In 2018, Accion, in partnership with Mastercard, set out to transform the lives of millions of underserved people through digital transformation. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the need for digitally enabled financial solutions for small businesses to build resilience in unpredictable times. Accion supported the digital transformation of nine financial service providers serving micro and small businesses in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Indonesia, India, and Nigeria. After four years of this partnership, 11.5 million people across Africa, Asia, and Latin America are benefitting from digital transformation, and 4.4 million small businesses are now actively using digital financial services.
