Jonathan Blanco is Accion Advisory’s Senior Director, Digital Lending based in Bogota, Colombia. Jonathan leads defining and scoping the transformation of Financial Service Providers (FSPs) and Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE)-focused platform players looking to embed digital credit within their existing product offering.  He focuses on creating frameworks and tools that enhance and encourage FSPs to partner with digital platforms, fintech, and alternative data providers to adopt and scale digital credit products through embedded finance models.

Jonathan brings over 15 years of experience working in retail banking and fintechs in Latin America implementing risk management tools, developing credit products, and enhancing portfolio profitability. Most recently, at Banco Falabella, Jonathan was pivotal in the digital onboarding initiative, conceptualizing the end-to-end customer journey and effecting a complete overhaul of the credit strategy within the credit risk engine, thus eliminating the back-office. He achieved similar digital transformation strides at Credissimo and Addi, both digital lenders. At Addi, he spearheaded the development of the BNPL product by augmenting the offering with diverse risk-related features, tenure variations, and expanded payment channels. Furthermore, he provided advisory support to Monet, contributing to the product development of an SME loan.

Jonathan has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Finance from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.
