In this webinar, we discussed the relevance of edtech for financial inclusion, innovations in edtech in Latin America, and the challenges faced in the usage and adoption of edtech platforms. Our speakers answered additional questions, available here in Spanish and English.
The pandemic is taking a devastating toll on low-income populations around the world. In its wake, the digital divide between the under-connected and hyper-connected is deepening. This may have severe consequences for Latin America, where one third of the population has no internet access.
Edtech can help ensure an inclusive economic recovery from COVID-19 by rapidly helping microentrepreneurs and informal workers acquire new skills and gain a foothold in the digital economy. Many financial service providers and education providers are already leveraging edtech platforms to provide resources and advice to their clients, ultimately aiming to close the digital divide.
