With its large reserves of human and natural resources, Nigeria has the potential to build a prosperous economy, significantly reduce poverty and provide the health, education and infrastructure services its population needs. Despite the country’s oil wealth, more than half of its residents lives below the poverty line, and GDP per capita is estimated at U.S. $2,700 annually.
Since 2000, we have been helping our partners in Africa by providing management and technical training. In 2007, Accion launched Lagos-based Accion Microfinance Bank, Limited (Accion MfB). Accion works closely with Accion MfB to increase access to financial services for entrepreneurs who would otherwise lack access to financial services in Nigeria.
We provide a range of technical assistance and management services to our partner Accion Microfinance Bank.
